Benalec Holdings Berhad is a Malaysian public company listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia. It describes itself as an integrated one-stop centre for marine construction solutions, with core expertise in land reclamation and dredging, alongside civil engineering works and supporting ancillary activities. The Group was incorporated on 12 July 2005 as Benalec Holdings Sdn Bhd, converted into a public limited company on 29 September 2010, and listed on 17 January 2011. Its origins trace to Leaw Eng Chang Construction Co. Sdn Bhd, incorporated in 1978 by the late Mr. Leaw Eng Chang, and renamed Benalec Sdn. Bhd. in 1996. The name "Benalec" combines the Malay word "BENA" (to build or construct) with "LEC", the initials of Mr. Leaw Eng Chang. The Group's first marine construction foray was in 1993, and it has since undertaken land reclamation contracts and, more recently, coal transport contracts.

Benalec Holdings Berhad was incorporated on 12 July 2005 as a private limited company under the name Benalec Holdings Sdn Bhd. It was converted into a public limited company and assumed its present name on 29 September 2010, and on 17 January 2011 it was listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia. The Group traces its origins to Leaw Eng Chang Construction Co. Sdn Bhd, incorporated in 1978 by the late Mr. Leaw Eng Chang as a contracting company specialising in civil engineering works; it was renamed Benalec Sdn. Bhd. in 1996. The name "Benalec" was derived from combining the Malay word "BENA" (to build or construct) with "LEC", the initials of Mr. Leaw Eng Chang. The first foray into marine construction was in 1993, when Benalec was awarded two coastal protection work projects by Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran, including restoration of the damaged bund at Sungai Belukang, Bagan Datoh, Perak. In June 2025, Benalec secured a two-year contract of affreightment to transport coal for TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd, having previously handled such a contract from 2019 until 2021.
