Belmeken hut

Belmeken hut (Хижа Белмекен) is a tourist mountain hut in the Rila Mountains of Bulgaria. It is situated in the northeastern part of the range, near Ravnichalsko Lake and north of Ravni chal peak. The hut was built at the end of 1932 to a design by the architects Gencho Skordev and Elena Varakadzhieva, and it was officially inaugurated in September 1933 in the presence of more than 1,000 public figures and tourists. Most of the construction funds were donated by Konstantin Panayodov, after whom the hut was originally named. It is managed by the Kostenets "Ravni chal" association. As a mountain hut, Belmeken provides basic accommodation and shelter for hikers and tourists exploring the Rila range. It is listed on the Kostenets tourism portal, which promotes local hospitality and outdoor activities. The hut remains an active part of Bulgaria's mountain tourism infrastructure, serving visitors to the Rila Mountains.
