Overview

Beilun People's Hospital (北仑区人民医院), also known as the Beilun Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (浙江大学医学院附属第一医院北仑分院), is a public general hospital located in Beilun District, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China. Its origins trace to 1952, when the Daqi Lingyan Public Hospital and Tong'an Hospital merged to form Daqi United Hospital. It was renamed Daqi District Health Center in 1958, Daqi Central Health Center in 1985, and Beilun District People's Hospital in 1991. Thanks to a donation of 4 million yuan by Hong Kong compatriot Gu Guohua, following the wish of his late father Gu Zongrui to benefit his hometown, the hospital relocated to a new site and became known as Zongrui Hospital. In November 2008, it signed an agreement with the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, which took over its management, and it was officially listed as the Beilun Branch of that hospital. In 2012, it moved to its current site; the old site now serves as the Daqi Subdistrict Community Health Service Center and retains the Zongrui Hospital name. It is a Grade 3B (三级乙等) hospital and a non-directly-affiliated teaching hospital of Ningbo University School of Medicine. The hospital is built to Grade 3 general hospital standards, covering an area of 116 mu (about 7.7 hectares) with a total floor area of approximately 102,347 square meters. It is designed for 800 beds and is divided into east and west campuses separated by the Shawan River, with a green area of 38,278 square meters. It offers a comprehensive range of clinical and medical technology departments, including cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, neurology, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, endocrinology, urology, gynecology, pediatrics, neonatology, geriatrics, dermatology, thoracic surgery, infectious diseases, ENT, ICU, ophthalmology, and more. Its medical technology departments include ultrasound imaging, radiology, laboratory medicine, pharmacy, and pathology. Several of its departments are recognized as leading medical disciplines at the provincial and municipal county level, such as neurology, ENT, cardiology, nephrology, orthopedics, and general surgery. The hospital operates under the Beilun District People's Hospital Medical Health Service Group and serves as a major healthcare provider for the Beilun District and surrounding areas. It is actively involved in public health education, community outreach, and recruitment of medical staff. Its official website provides information on medical services, appointments, expert introductions, procurement announcements, and hospital news.
