History

RTTE's predecessor, Beijing Beikong Transportation Equipment Co., Ltd., was established in February 2013 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Beijing Enterprises Group. In October 2016, Beijing Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd. (BIIC) and Beijing Enterprises Group signed an agreement under which BIIC acquired 100% of Beikong Transportation's equity, bringing Beijing Enterprises Group's rail transit business under BIIC. On 10 February 2017, the two parties completed registration of the equity transfer, and Beikong Transportation was renamed RTTE. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, RTTE established a technology research institute, built the Hebei Jingche vehicle manufacturing base and the Pingxifu vehicle repair base, and acquired the German design firm LogoMotive GmbH, forming rail transit vehicle products across multiple speed grades and multiple systems. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, RTTE stated it would implement BIIC's strategic deployment of building "four rail transits" and a "one body, two wings, three supports" structure, with full production at its manufacturing bases and continuous benchmarking against first-class enterprises as its two main lines.
