Overview

Beau Sevran is a French shopping centre located in Sevran, in the Seine-Saint-Denis department of the Île-de-France region. It sits near the Sevran – Beaudottes railway station and the Robert-Ballanger hospital centre. The centre opened in 1973 under the Euromarché banner and has since undergone several expansions, most notably in 1984–1985, 1986 and 1995. Today it is anchored by a Carrefour hypermarket of approximately 12,000 m² and houses around 76 shops and nine restaurants, with a total useful commercial area of about 25,000 m² on a single level. The centre is owned and managed by Klépierre, a major European shopping centre company. It positions itself as a regional-scale shopping destination that is also deeply integrated into the heart of Sevran, serving both local residents and visitors from surrounding areas. The centre attracts roughly nine million potential customers per year and reported a turnover of €163 million including tax in 2017. Its retail mix includes fashion, services, dining and a Carrefour hypermarket, alongside practical services such as a drive, travel agency, laundry, shoe repair, key cutting, photo development and banking. Beau Sevran also hosts community-oriented initiatives, including a departmental branch of the CNIDFF (Centre national d'information des droits des femmes et des familles) since July 2020, and participates in the Grand Paris development project, with a new station planned at the centre's doorstep.

History

Beau Sevran opened in 1973 in a peri-urban area of Sevran, initially under the Euromarché banner. The centre underwent three major expansions from 1984 to the present (as of June 2018). The first, in 1984–1985, created forty shops stretching from the central square to the station. In 1986, four mid-sized units were added. In 1995, the centre was enlarged and Porte 1 was covered, three shops were created, four revolving doors were installed, and the false ceiling and mall lighting were replaced. Today the site comprises seventy-six shops and nine dining points, nine mid-sized units and a Carrefour hypermarket of 12,000 m². The useful commercial area (SCU) is 25,000 m² on a single level. The centre welcomes approximately nine million potential customers per year, and its turnover in 2017 was €163 million including tax. Since July 2020, the shopping centre has hosted a departmental branch of the CNIDFF (Centre national d'information des droits des femmes et des familles), centralising the work of several local associations dedicated to combating violence and discrimination. Several dozen cases of domestic violence have been handled by the local courts since the branch opened. The centre is part of the Klépierre group and is integrated into the development and redevelopment of the Sevran districts and the Grand Paris project, notably with the planned creation of a station at the shopping centre's doorstep.
