Banco de Alimentos de Navarra

The Banco de Alimentos de Navarra (FBAN) is a non-profit foundation, organised and managed by volunteers, that collects and distributes food for the people most in need in Navarra and fights food waste through its own activity and by raising social awareness across all sectors, especially among young people. Its website reports figures of 18,276 people served, 2,171 tonnes of food distributed, 1,430 tonnes of food not wasted, and 370 tonnes of food collected by MCP in supermarkets. It runs two annual food-collection campaigns in Navarra, traditionally held in May and November, and also carries out research, including a study with the Universidad Pública de Navarra published in the scientific journal Healthcare.
