Banca del Piemonte (BP) is an Italian credit institution headquartered in Turin. Founded on 26 April 1912 as Banca Fondiaria Italiana by a group of ancient Turin families, it has operated for over a century and remains an independent, family-guided bank. Since 1930 the Venesio family has been the principal shareholder, and today Camillo Venesio, third generation of the founding family, serves as Amministratore Delegato and Direttore Generale. The bank is wholly owned by Confienza Partecipazioni SpA, which holds 100% of its capital. The bank provides retail and corporate banking services, including current accounts, payment cards, mortgages, loans, and wealth management, to private individuals and businesses. It operates a network of thirty-nine branches across the metropolitan city of Turin and the provinces of Alessandria, Cuneo, Novara, and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, plus one extra-regional branch in Milan. Its service model combines physical branches and relationship managers with digital channels, including internet banking, a dedicated online branch called OpenToYou, and a digital financial advisor named Millo. Banca del Piemonte positions itself as a local, relationship-driven bank rooted in Piedmont, emphasizing solidity, independence, efficiency, ethics, and sustainability. It adheres to the Italian Banking Association's codes of conduct and maintains a traditional governance system with a Board of Directors and a Board of Statutory Auditors. History

Banca del Piemonte traces its origins to 26 April 1912, when a group of friends from ancient Turin families established the Banca Fondiaria Italiana in Turin. In 1925 the institution changed its name to Banca Anonima di Credito. Following World War I the bank struggled to establish itself, and on 1 December 1930 Camillo Venesio was appointed Amministratore Delegato; in the following years the Venesio family became the principal shareholder. In 1947 Camillo Venesio founded the Banca di Casale e del Monferrato in his native Casale Monferrato. Under his leadership both banks experienced progressive development. Vittorio Venesio, son of Camillo, became Amministratore Delegato of Banca Anonima di Credito in 1955 and strengthened the growth of both institutions. At the end of the 1970s, Banca Anonima di Credito, which had expanded in Turin's industrial areas, incorporated Banca di Casale e del Monferrato. In 1978 the two institutions guided by the Venesio family merged under the single name Banca Anonima di Credito, giving rise to what would become Banca del Piemonte. In 1983 Camillo Venesio, namesake of his grandfather, became Amministratore Delegato and Direttore Generale. In 1998 the institution took the name Banca del Piemonte. In 2009 the bank launched its first Internet Banking App. In 2010 the fourth generation of the family actively joined the bank. In 2012 the bank celebrated its first 100 years of activity with the novel "Lo sguardo oltre l'orizzonte" by Alessandro Perissinotto, a mystery set in the post-war years (1947–1955) featuring the bank, the Venesio family, and Turin. In 2015 it opened its first Banca del Piemonte branch in Milan. In 2019 the OpenToYou online branch and dedicated online accounts were launched. In 2021 Millo, the first digital financial advisor, was introduced. In 2022 the bank celebrated its 110th anniversary. Today Banca del Piemonte is an independent bank controlled by Confienza Partecipazioni SpA, which holds 100% of its capital. It operates thirty-nine branches across Piedmont and one in Milan, serving both private individuals and businesses. As of 31 December 2025, it reported a CET1 ratio of 21.21% and approximately 495 employees.
