Bamboobino was created by Sharon Chai, a mum of 2, in Vancouver, British Columbia. The brand was born from a desire to find the softest, most practical, and least damaging fabric for her children. The rayon from bamboo fiber in all products is Oeko-Tex 100 certified and made from OCIA & USDA-certified organically grown bamboo. All products are made in Vancouver except socks, crib sheets, and pandas, which are sourced ethically in Asia. The company embraces triple bottom line practices. It was nominated for the 2007 Visions of Excellence Award, the 2008 and 2010 SavvyMom Mom Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and the 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Douglas College). In 2008, Bamboobino received a scholarship from Vancity for Ecotrust's Climate Smart. In 2009, it won an iParenting Award for Best Products, and in 2012, it was selected as an award winner from Parent Tested Parent Approved.
