Overview
AXBIS Co. Ltd. (Korean: 액스비스) is a South Korean company specializing in industrial laser solutions, artificial intelligence and robotics. Its name is an abbreviation of "AX Based Innovative Solution." The company was founded in 2009 in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, and originally operated under the name HUBIS (휴비스) before changing its corporate name to AXBIS on 26 May 2025. AXBIS develops and manufactures industrial laser equipment for core processes in the battery, electric vehicle, semiconductor and display industries. Beyond laser hardware, it works on special optical laser systems, AI and deep-learning-based inspection and quality control, and manufacturing process automation. It also builds high-speed, high-precision robots and autonomous mobile robot (AMR) systems. The company attracted outside investment between late 2022 and early 2023, when InnoPolis Partners, Kiwoom Private Equity (PE), Kolon Investment and Daedeok Venture Partners participated in a 7 billion KRW redeemable convertible preferred share (RCPS) issuance. In December 2025 it received preliminary approval for a KOSDAQ listing, and it listed on the KOSDAQ market in March 2026. AXBIS has drawn controversy over its cash position: although revenue and operating profit grew, its heavy dependence on large customers weakens its bargaining power, and its receivables collection is reportedly about three times slower than the industry average, leaving it short of cash.
