Overview
Avrora Qrup is an Azerbaijani food-sector group founded on 1 November 1993 as a distributor of local and foreign factory products. Over three decades it has grown into one of the country's leading distribution, manufacturing and retail companies. Its distribution arm serves more than 12,000 retail points with over 1,000 product lines, representing international brands such as Danone, Ehrman, Arla, Rolton, Hochland, KraftHeinz, Pernod Ricard, Diageo, Carlsberg, Jagermeister, Gruppo Campari, Brown Forman and Bacardi Limited. The company operates a logistics centre of about 39,000 square metres and regional branches in Ganja, Lankaran, Barda, Quba, Goychay, Sheki and Saatli, supported by more than 500 trucks and five regional warehouses. Since 2001 Avrora Qrup has also been active as a manufacturer. Its production is concentrated in the Avrora Industrial Park, which houses a pasta factory, a confectionery factory, a carbonated and non-carbonated beverage factory, a carbon dioxide factory and a flour mill. The plants use equipment from Buhler and Franz Haas (Switzerland), Imaforni, CFT, Fava, Ricciarelli and Landucci (Italy), and Krones (Germany), and operate under ISO 22000:2018 food safety and ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems. Own brands include Doymak, Harika, Gunaydin and Tanelli pasta; Doymak, Harika and Gunaydin flour; Bizon and Berg Glucose carbonated vitamin drinks; Berg Tea; and biscuit brands such as Kreki and Sladyaona. In retail, Avrora Qrup operates the Tamstore supermarket chain in Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan, with mini, city and super formats. Earlier it launched the Bolmart supermarket chain in 2010. The group is a prominent non-oil private company in Azerbaijan, and its co-founders also back a team that became national champion, according to a 2026 news item on its website.
History
Avrora Qrup was founded on 1 November 1993 as a distribution company, initially handling products from local and foreign factories for the Azerbaijani market. In 1997 the company established Orxan MMC, and in 2000 Avrora Qrup itself was formally established. The group expanded into manufacturing in 2001, and in 2002 it built its first mill complex and commissioned a pasta factory; a biscuit factory also began operations that year. In 2010 the Bolmart supermarket chain was launched, marking the group's entry into retail. A new production area for carbonated soft drinks started in 2014, based on Italian CFT equipment. In 2017 the group commissioned what it describes as the Caucasus's largest and most modern mill complex, equipped with Buhler machinery from Switzerland. A new pasta factory opened in 2020. Today Avrora Qrup operates across distribution, manufacturing, logistics and retail, with a logistics centre of about 39,000 square metres, regional branches in Ganja, Lankaran, Barda, Quba, Goychay, Sheki and Saatli, and a portfolio of international brand partnerships. Its Tamstore supermarket chain operates in mini, city and super formats in Baku and other regions.
