Augustowsko-Suwalskie Towarzystwo Naukowe

The Augustowsko-Suwalskie Towarzystwo Naukowe (ASTN) is a Polish learned society founded in 2000 in Suwałki. Its mission is to propagate knowledge about the Suwalszczyzna (Suwałki) region and to initiate and conduct scientific research on the region. The society organizes seminars, lectures, training sessions, discussions, and exhibitions, and it publishes scholarly works. Since 2001 it has issued the academic periodical Rocznik Augustowsko-Suwalski (ISSN 1730-9875). Its seat is located in the building of the Muzeum Okręgowe w Suwałkach (Regional Museum in Suwałki), the former Resursa Obywatelska building. In 2023 the society received an honorary award, Świadek Historii (Witness of History), from the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN).
