Atelier 10

Atelier 10 is a social enterprise founded in 2011 by Nicolas Langelier and Jocelyn Maclure. It publishes the magazine Nouveau Projet and the collections Documents (essays), Pièces (dramaturgy), Journalisme 9 (drawn journalism), Transmission (life stories), Humour (humorous texts) and Le temps debout (practical guides). Its Studio A10 offers editorial content services. In autumn 2014 it obtained B Corporation certification, becoming the first Canadian publishing house to join that group, and the same year Jocelyn Maclure left and Nicolas Langelier became sole owner. In 2015 Nouveau Projet won Magazine of the Year at the Canadian Magazine Awards, the first French-language magazine to do so, and won again in 2019 and 2024.

Atelier 10 was founded in 2011 by Nicolas Langelier and Jocelyn Maclure. At its official launch in 2012, Atelier 10 published the magazine Nouveau Projet twice a year and as many titles in the Documents essay collection. Events (for example, two editions of the Nouveau Cabaret, as well as several discussions and conferences) were added, along with the Nouveau Projet Audio podcast. In 2014, it began publishing the Pièces collection, presenting the best playwrights in Quebec, at a rate of four titles per year. In autumn 2014, Atelier 10 obtained B Corporation international certification, making it the first Canadian publishing house to join that select group of a thousand companies worldwide. The same year, Jocelyn Maclure left and Nicolas Langelier became sole owner. In 2015, Nouveau Projet won the prestigious title of Magazine of the Year at the Canadian Magazine Awards; it was the first time a French-language magazine was so crowned. Nouveau Projet received the same award in 2019 and in 2024, and was a finalist in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2025. In autumn 2015, Atelier 10 opened its shop on rue Beaubien Est, in Montreal.
