History
The Associazione Mazziniana Italiana was founded in 1943 by important figures of the anti-fascist movement. It has always maintained a clear position against fascism and every form of totalitarianism. Since its founding, its members have continuously and voluntarily pursued the goal of educating Italian women and men in the culture of democratic participation. Also because of its deep roots in the historical experiences of the Risorgimento and the resistance, the association has worked effectively over the years to keep alive the ideal legacy of these founding moments of freedom in modern Italian history. It seeks to fulfil this through the presentation, in its periodical Il Pensiero Mazziniano, of stimulating and original contributions on republicanism and the history of republican movements, and through the organisation of conferences, seminars and other cultural activities focused both on recovering past experiences and on discussing fundamental trends in political, religious and moral thought of our time.
