Overview
The Association Paléontologique Française (APF) is a French association loi de 1901 whose purpose is to promote palaeontology and to favour communication between palaeontologists. To this end it organises a congress each year and publishes a liaison bulletin, the Journal de l'APF. It facilitates the development of palaeontology in France by giving it greater visibility at national and international congresses, particularly geology congresses, as a partner organisation in their organisation. The APF is open to all upon registration and is administered by a board of six elected members serving three-year terms, renewable by thirds each year; the board chooses from among its members a bureau comprising a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary and a Treasurer. Its registered address is 57 Rue Cuvier, 75005 Paris, France, and the publication director is Eric Buffetaut.
