Arsenalul Aeronautic, commonly translated as Aeronautical Arsenal, was an early Romanian aircraft industrial and research establishment based on the Cotroceni field in Bucharest. Created in November 1919 through the transfer of equipment and most personnel from the General Aviation Reserve in Iași, it became a central institution in the development of Romania's interwar aviation industry. On 1 July 1920, the factory was formally renamed the Aeronautical Arsenal. Two prototypes were completed, using Cirrus and Salmson engines respectively. Its staggered unequal wings, with the lower wing offset from the upper wing and without interplane struts, represented a distinctive aerodynamic solution. The aircraft was reportedly favorably assessed in flight by the French pilot Lepreux, but the design did not enter mass production. The Arsenal also supported Romanian civil aviation by modifying De Havilland bomber fuselages for passenger and freight operations. Arsenalul Aeronautic emerged from the reorganization of Romania's early postwar aviation infrastructure.
