In 1995 four entrepreneurs founded Aritco in a living room in Kungsängen outside Stockholm. All four had experience in the elevator business and agreed there was a need for a new kind of product that was smarter to use, easier to install, easier to operate, and significantly less expensive than the elevators on the market at the time. The four, all engineers, built their first elevator by hand. After passing through two factories in Kungsängen, Aritco is now based in a 16,000 sqm factory and office in Veddesta outside Stockholm. Today the company produces 3,000 elevators a year sold in 60 countries through more than 170 distributors, and since its start more than 48,000 lifts have been installed in buildings worldwide. Aritco is part of the Innovalift group; Innovalift AB was established in 2024 as a new business area within Investment AB Latour, Sweden.
