Overview

Arena One is a German catering and hospitality company based in Munich. It describes itself as a comprehensive hospitality partner for sports, business, and cultural events of any kind and size, staging hospitality as an experience in sports stadiums, exclusive VIP events, corporate restaurants, and high-profile locations in Germany and worldwide. The company is part of the DO & CO group. Its roots reach back to 1972, when it was founded as "Haberl Gastronomie" to provide VIP and public catering for the Munich Olympic Park during the 1972 Summer Olympics. In 2006 the company merged with Arena One, a subsidiary of E.ON Facility Management that had been responsible for catering and hospitality at the Allianz Arena in Munich since 2005. Arena One took over the catering activities of Haberl Gastronomie and has since been the exclusive hospitality and catering partner of the Olympic Park and the Allianz Arena. Beyond stadium catering, Arena One provides hospitality and catering services for temporary major sports and cultural events, corporate events, and gala and state receptions. Its references include the BMW International Open, the Spengler Cup in Davos, and the X Games Munich. The company gained international recognition through its work at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, where it served six stadiums and three stadiums respectively. In South Africa it also initiated a CSR project to pass on unused food to people in need under food-safety regulations, and supported the Johannes Project Village Sae Heaven in 2010. In addition to sports and cultural activities, Arena One operates E.ON corporate restaurants and conference centers across Germany, offering exclusive lunch, daytime, and interim catering as well as conference management and services. It also operates the Restaurant 181, the revolving restaurant in the Olympiaturm in Munich. In early 2014, as part of its focus on its core business, the energy group E.ON sold Arena One to the Austrian catering company DO & CO.

History

Arena One's history begins in 1972, when the company was founded as "Haberl Gastronomie" to handle VIP and public catering for the Munich Olympic Park during the 1972 Summer Olympics. For decades it remained a Munich-based hospitality operator rooted in the Olympic Park. In 2005, Arena One — at that time a subsidiary of E.ON Facility Management — was entrusted with catering and hospitality at the newly built Allianz Arena in Munich. In 2006, Haberl Gastronomie merged with Arena One, taking over the latter's name and its catering activities. Since that merger, Arena One has been the exclusive hospitality and catering partner of both the Olympiapark and the Allianz Arena. The company expanded its portfolio beyond permanent venues into temporary major events. It provided catering at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, serving six stadiums, and at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, serving three stadiums. Its event references also include the BMW International Open, the Spengler Cup in Davos, and the X Games Munich. During the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Arena One initiated a CSR project to redistribute unused food to people in need under food-safety regulations, and it supported the Johannes Project Village Sae Heaven. Alongside sports and cultural events, Arena One operated E.ON corporate restaurants and conference centers across Germany, offering lunch, daytime, and interim catering as well as conference management. It also ran the Restaurant 181, the revolving restaurant in Munich's Olympiaturm. In early 2014, as E.ON concentrated on its core energy business, the group sold Arena One to the Austrian catering company DO & CO. Under DO & CO ownership, Arena One continues to present itself as a comprehensive hospitality partner for sports, business, and cultural events of all kinds and sizes, operating in sports stadiums, exclusive VIP events, corporate restaurants, and prominent locations in Germany and worldwide.
