Application Systems Heidelberg Software GmbH is a distributor, publisher, and developer. Since 1985, the company has been involved in the distribution of products it uses itself. It has translated many products into German, produced them in Germany, and provided local finishing touches. The company is currently working on various cross-platform development projects, including the adventures Mutropolis, Rosewater, Ghost on the Shore, and the platformer Haiki, as well as ports of its games The Longing and Unforeseen Incidents for the Nintendo Switch console.

Application Systems Heidelberg Software GmbH has been dealing with outstanding products for over 40 years. Its roots are in the development and distribution of software for the ATARI ST computer, where it achieved a market-leading position through development systems (Megamax C, Megamax Modula 2, Pure C, Pure Pascal) and products such as the word processing program Signum. After the decline of Atari, together with its sister companies Application Systems Paris and Application Systems London, it built a distribution network across Europe and gained direct listings with customers such as Apple Store Europe, Media Markt, Saturn, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.co.uk, Fnac, and many others. It also built a network of contract dealers, binding over 150 dealers in close cooperation. In total, it reached over 800 active retail stores and numerous project-based customers, as well as several dozen online retailers. Its focus was on Macintosh software and photography-related products, but especially on games for macOS.
