APEIRON Biologics AG is a biotech company headquartered at Campus-Vienna-Biocenter 5, 1030 Vienna, Austria. It was founded in 2003 by Josef Penninger to translate academic basic research into therapeutic products in diseases with high unmet need, namely cancer; operations started in 2005, initially focusing on discovery projects. As the first Austrian biotech company, APEIRON Biologics developed a cancer immunotherapy product through to market approval in 2017, and the cancer drug Qarziba® is today licensed to its partner EUSAPharma. Since January 2022 the innovative R&D portfolio has been operated by the 100% subsidiary invIOs, following the spin-off of APEIRON's operational R&D activities into invIOs GmbH on 1 January 2022, including all staff and related assets.

Since its inception, APEIRON has substantially devoted its resources to raising capital and developing innovative projects, and has identified and developed potential product candidates and conducted pre-clinical and clinical trials in different tumor indications. As first Austrian biotech company, APEIRON Biologics developed a cancer immunotherapy product through to market approval in 2017; the cancer drug Qarziba® is today licensed to its partner EUSAPharma. On 1 January 2022 the operational R&D activities of APEIRON were spun off into invIOs GmbH, including all staff and related assets; since January 2022 the innovative R&D portfolio is operated by the 100% subsidiary invIOs.
