Overview
Anton Häring KG – Werk für Präzisionstechnik is a German metalworking company and automotive supplier headquartered in Bubsheim in the Landkreis Tuttlingen district of Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1961 by Anton Häring in his parents' barn, the company has grown into a family-run technology group that describes itself as a world market leader in the manufacture of highly complex precision parts and assemblies in large and medium series. Its core competence is precision turned parts made from difficult-to-machine materials, produced in very high volumes at the limits of what is technically feasible. The company supplies customers worldwide, above all in the automotive industry, and its components are central elements of highly complex systems used in drivetrain and chassis technology (including transmission, brake and steering systems), sensor technology and other key technologies. Häring develops and produces high-tech solutions for conventional engines as well as for new drive types such as hybrid and electric mobility. Its portfolio includes assembly-ready precision turned parts with diameters from 3 to 60 mm and assemblies for pump-nozzle and common-rail systems, gasoline and diesel injection systems, ABS technology combined with electronic differential lock (EDS) and traction control (ASR), as well as turned parts for brake systems and transmissions. According to the company, it employs around 4,000 people at five locations on four continents, including roughly 300 apprentices and students. Production sites include the main plant in Bubsheim (23,000 m² of production space), Piotrków Trybunalksi in Poland (50,000 m²), Taicang in China (19,000 m²) and Lavonia, Georgia in the USA (15,000 m²), with an additional site in Tunis, Tunisia focused on IT and AI development. The company states that it manufactures around 3 million components per day. At the Bubsheim main site, 225 production machines were available and around 500,000 precision parts were produced daily as of 2018. Anton Häring KG is a family-owned business. Since the death of founder Anton Häring in January 2016, his son Jürgen Häring, who had already been part of the management, has led the company. The firm is listed as a "Weltmarktführer Champion" in the world market leader index, meeting criteria such as owner leadership with headquarters in the DACH region (100% in Häring's case) and global market activity on at least three continents (four for Häring). Häring has repeatedly received awards for above-average performance, for example from Bosch (Global Supplier Award) and Continental/Schaeffler (Premium Supplier Award). The company places strong emphasis on training and social engagement. Its Häring Akademie, established in Bubsheim in 2005, provides vocational and further education with a roughly 900 m² practical area and machine park, and equivalent academies exist at the Polish, Chinese and US sites. The international training concept was awarded the IHK-Bildungspreis in 2022. The company has also been criticized repeatedly for the absence of a works council, and attempts to establish employee representation have failed several times.
History
Anton Häring KG was founded in 1961 by Anton Häring (3 October 1940 – 4 January 2016) in his parents' barn. The first factory building was erected in 1964. The company is based in Bubsheim in the Landkreis Tuttlingen, a region known as a center of turned-parts manufacturing on the Heuberg. The so-called Häring-Siedlung, a housing development of more than 80 houses, allowed employees to buy a home or rent an apartment and contributed to the growth of the municipality. In 2003, the company opened its second production site in Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland. At that time, the Bubsheim main plant had 360 employees, and Haering Polska was initially planned for 70 employees in a 10,000 m² plant. Turned parts, primarily for the automotive industry, are also manufactured there. In June 2004, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Häring-Akademie, the company's own training and further education center in Bubsheim. The company invested around 4 million euros in the building with about 3,300 m² of usable space. A dormitory for apprentices housing Polish and Chinese employees had been completed shortly before. In 2010, a further site followed in Taicang, China, in Jiangsu Province northwest of Shanghai; revenue there has grown twentyfold since its founding. This was followed by a branch in Lavonia, Georgia, USA (2019) and in 2020 in Tunis, Tunisia. More than 850 employees work in Bubsheim alone. The Häring Akademie was established in Bubsheim in 2005 with a roughly 900 m² practical area and machine park; by 2018, 97 percent of all apprentices and students had successfully completed their training, and the company's retention rate for young talent was 100 percent. The academy exists with the same structure and equipment at the three foreign sites in Poland, China and the USA. In its own innovation laboratory, apprentices and students develop processes and technologies that are subsequently adopted into global production. Since the death of founder Anton Häring in January 2016, his son Jürgen, who had already been involved in management, has led the company. The company's international training concept was awarded the IHK-Bildungspreis in 2022. This concept includes exchange between sites, so that Chinese employees, for example, come to the headquarters in Bubsheim for two-year training programs to learn German, internalize company values and better understand processes and technologies. In October 2025, Managing Director Jürgen Häring was awarded the Chinese Friendship Award, among other things for this commitment; the honored engagement also includes the international kindergarten in China initiated by Häring. The company has repeatedly been criticized for the absence of a works council. Attempts to assert the legal right to employee representation have failed several times. When in December 2011 three employees of Häring invited to a works meeting on the occasion of the election of an electoral board, one of the organizers faced consequences. The company is listed as a "Weltmarktführer Champion" in the world market leader index, meeting criteria such as owner leadership with headquarters in the DACH region (100% in Häring's case) and global market activity on at least three continents (four for Häring). In the ANTONIS company restaurant of Anton Häring KG, the Häring Innovationsforum event series takes place regularly (44 times as of November 2025). At the forum, well-known personalities from various fields such as business, politics and science speak several times a year. Speakers have included Klaus Rosenfeld, Christian Lindner, Georg Gänswein, Günther Oettinger, Norbert Röttgen, Hans-Jörg Bullinger, Hildegard Müller, Rüdiger Grube, Guido Westerwelle, Herman-Josef Zoche, Michael Hüther, Lothar Späth, Roman Herzog, Hans-Werner Sinn and Franz Josef Radermacher, among others.
