Overview
Anouar Invest is a Moroccan holding company founded in October 2007 and owned by businessman El Hachmi Boutgueray, who serves as Chairman and CEO. Headquartered in Casablanca, the group manages around twenty subsidiaries and describes itself as a multisector operator active in agri-food, distribution, logistics, real estate, agriculture and trading. It is widely regarded as the second-largest food group in Morocco. The group's agri-food division is its historical core. It includes biscuit and confectionery operations, dairy through Best Milk (Le Bon lait), and a range of food-processing subsidiaries built up through acquisitions such as the 2009 purchase of Groupe Fandy. Anouar Invest has pursued vertical integration, from agricultural inputs and production through to distribution and logistics, supported by its Disbo and Logistic City platforms. Its real estate arm, represented by Anouar Almostakbal and Anwar Développement, develops residential and commercial projects. According to the company's own figures, the group employs more than 5,000 people, operates 11 industrial production sites, and manages a portfolio of around 60 brands across five business poles. It reported revenue of more than 7 billion Moroccan dirhams in 2024. Anouar Invest presents itself as a contributor to Morocco's industrial sovereignty and sustainable economic development, with a formal environmental and social management policy. The group has made notable portfolio moves, including the acquisition of Groupe Fandy in 2009 and the sale of its Silver Food seafood subsidiary in 2015 to a unit of the UAE-based Supreme Group. It has also invested in renewable energy, notably a wind farm project near Essaouira intended to power its factories. Anouar Invest remains a private, family-controlled holding and is not listed on a stock exchange.
History
Anouar Invest was created in October 2007 as a Moroccan holding company by El Hachmi Boutgueray, who remains its owner and Chairman and CEO. The group's roots, however, reach back to 1994, when Stock Pralim was established, marking an early presence in agri-food. Over the following decade the group expanded into real estate and logistics, founding Disbo in 2004 and Anouar Almostakbal and Anwar Développement in 2006. A defining moment came in early October 2009, when Boutgueray acquired Groupe Fandy for 350 million dirhams. Fandy had been weakened by a shareholder dispute involving Abdelhak Bennani (36%), the heirs of the late Azzeddine Bennani (32%) and the Benchimoul family (32%). The shareholders decided to sell their stakes, allowing Anouar Invest to complete a vertical integration strategy it had already begun. The same year, the group added Silver Food, Sopcoda, Cahimsa, Fapasa and Holding Fandy, which owned Copragri, Fandy Delicium and Fandy Binayat. To power its factories, the group finalized a wind farm project in the Essaouira region with an investment of 400 million dirhams. In 2014 it launched Best Milk (Le Bon lait), strengthening its dairy presence. In July 2015, Anouar Invest announced the sale of its Silver Food subsidiary to a unit of Supreme Group, a UAE-based operator. At the time, Silver Food and its subsidiaries had revenue of 41 million euros in 2013 and were among the leaders of Morocco's fishing industry, with capacity to produce 100 million cans of sardines, tuna and mackerel. Today Anouar Invest operates through five business poles — agri-food, distribution, logistics, real estate, agriculture and trading — and manages around twenty subsidiaries. The group states that it employs more than 5,000 people, runs 11 industrial production sites and holds a portfolio of about 60 brands, with revenue exceeding 7 billion dirhams in 2024. It describes itself as the second-largest food group in Morocco and emphasizes environmental and social responsibility, aiming to contribute to Morocco's industrial sovereignty and sustainable development.
