Overview
Anniversaire Tokyo Bay was a wedding venue and shopping complex located in Ariake, Koto Ward, Tokyo, in the Odaiba waterfront area. It opened on April 27, 2002, originally under the name Partire Tokyo Bay Wedding Village & Square, and was operated by Anniversaire, a wholly owned subsidiary of AOKI Holdings. The facility was built as a temporary-use site on leased land, intended to operate only until full-scale redevelopment of the area began. In January 2011, it was renamed Anniversaire Tokyo Bay following the renaming of its operator from Lavis to Anniversaire. The venue consisted of two main areas: a Wedding Village and a Square. The Wedding Village offered house weddings in private detached houses with gardens, themed as French, Italian, and British residences, and it was the only venue in Odaiba with its own chapel. The Square was a European-style streetscape open to the public, featuring a Parisian-style triumphal arch at its entrance, along with wedding-related dress salons and cafes. Opening hours were 10:00 to 20:00 (9:00 to 20:00 on weekends and holidays), closed on Tuesdays, with parking available for Wedding Village visitors. Over its nearly two-decade operation, the venue hosted approximately 13,000 weddings. It also served as a filming location for numerous television dramas, music videos, and variety shows, including productions featuring KinKi Kids, Seiko Matsuda, GLAY, and others. The facility closed on September 5, 2021, as originally planned due to its temporary land lease. The site was subsequently purchased by TV Asahi, which announced plans to build a multi-purpose complex called Tokyo Dream Park; that facility opened on March 27, 2026. Former patrons were encouraged to continue celebrating anniversaries at other Anniversaire locations.
History
Anniversaire Tokyo Bay opened on April 27, 2002, in the Ariake district of Koto Ward, Tokyo, as Partire Tokyo Bay Wedding Village & Square. It was developed as a temporary-use facility on leased land, with the understanding that it would operate only until a full-scale redevelopment of the Odaiba area commenced. The operator was the company then known as Lavis, which later changed its name to Anniversaire, a wholly owned subsidiary of AOKI Holdings. In January 2011, the venue was renamed Anniversaire Tokyo Bay to align with the corporate rebranding. The facility was divided into two sections. The Wedding Village comprised three detached houses with gardens—French, Italian, and British—that could be reserved for private house weddings. It also featured the only chapel in Odaiba. The Square was a public area designed to evoke a European townscape, complete with a triumphal arch modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and housed wedding dress salons and cafes. Operating hours were 10:00–20:00 on weekdays and 9:00–20:00 on weekends and holidays, with Tuesdays as the regular closing day. A dedicated parking lot was available for Wedding Village visitors. During its nearly two decades of operation, the venue hosted approximately 13,000 weddings. It gained additional prominence as a filming location for numerous television dramas, music videos, and variety shows. Productions that filmed there included Fuji TV's "KinKi Kids no Bunbunbun" (2021), the drama "Oshi no Oujisama" (2021), TV Asahi's "Hiromi Sashihara no Koi no Osewa Hajimemashita" (2021), Nippon TV's "1 Oku 3000 Man no SHOW Channel" (2021), TBS's "Monitoring" (2020, 2021), and music videos for SixTONES, Seiko Matsuda, GLAY, Ayaka, Da-iCE, and Jaejoong, among others. As planned from the outset, the facility closed on September 5, 2021, marking its "grand finale." A series of farewell events were held for couples who had married there. In a message dated September 2021, Representative Director and President Kenichi Matsuda expressed gratitude to the approximately 13,000 couples and their families. Former patrons were invited to continue celebrating anniversaries at other Anniversaire locations. The site's redevelopment had been decided earlier: in 2020, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government solicited proposals for the land, and on December 25, 2020, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Port and Harbor Bureau announced that TV Asahi would purchase the plot and construct a multi-purpose complex featuring event spaces, audience facilities, and television studios. That new facility, named Tokyo Dream Park, opened on March 27, 2026.
