Overview

Angeln-Bahn is a heritage railway in north Germany, operated by Angelner Dampfeisenbahn gGmbH since 2011, running between Kappeln and Süderbrarup since 1979.

History

The Angelner Dampfeisenbahn has been operating regularly between Kappeln and Süderbrarup since 1979, using almost exclusively vehicles from Scandinavia. Since 2011, the museum railway has been operated by Angelner Dampfeisenbahn gGmbH, largely with volunteer staff from the Freunde des Schienenverkehrs e.V. (FSF). The history began in 1977 with the acquisition of the steam locomotive F 654 from the Danish State Railways (DSB). In 1979, the railway found a home in Kappeln, and the first trips between Kappeln and Süderbrarup took place in May 1979.
