Overview
ANDAF (Associazione Nazionale Direttori Amministrativi e Finanziari) is a non-profit Italian professional association that since 1968 has represented CFOs and the heads of Administration, Finance, Management Control, Strategic Planning, Risk Management and Internal Audit functions in Italian companies. It operates through a central structure and 12 local sections across Italy, promoting the exchange of experience and information among members, supporting their training and professional growth, and acting as a spokesperson for their needs and experiences with institutional bodies. ANDAF is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Mimit) as an association authorized to issue certificates of professional qualification. It has developed for UNI, the Italian standardization body, the Reference Practice that defines the professional profile of the CFO/Dirigente Preposto/Controller. Members can therefore receive a certificate of quality and professional qualification of services provided (under Law No. 4/2013), and each professional can apply for certification of the professional profile and service in the AFC area overseen by the CFO (according to Reference Practice 104:2021). These two levels of verification of professional performance quality — the second with European and international validity — represent significant added value in terms of competitiveness for members. Internationally, ANDAF is part of ICFOA – International CFO Alliance, a non-profit organization bringing together 12 member countries, of which ANDAF is a founding member. ICFOA is a network of associations. ANDAF organizes a wide range of events, including its annual National Congress (the XLVIII Congresso nazionale is scheduled for 8-10 October 2026 at the Sheraton Rome Parco de' Medici), forums, education courses (ANDAF Education), and networking initiatives. It also publishes the Rivista ANDAF and maintains technical committees such as Corporate Finance (established in April 2010) and Corporate Governance & Compliance, which produce position papers, guidelines and contribute to regulatory debate. The association's president is Agostino Scornajenchi, as indicated in the editorial of the Rivista ANDAF. ANDAF's activities span professional certification, education, networking, and advocacy, making it a central hub for the Italian CFO community.
