History
Amelia Island 7 is a movie theater in Fernandina Beach, Florida, United States. It is part of B&B Theatres, a family-owned cinema chain that traces its origins to 1924 when Elmer Bills, Sr. bought the Lyric Theatre in Salisbury, Missouri, and founded Bills Theatres. In 1936, the elder Elmer hired 10-year-old Sterling Bagby as a concession clerk. Sterling Bagby later started the Bagby Traveling Picture Show, which screened movies in rural Missouri barns, schools, and parks, and eventually evolved into a Kansas circuit of drive-in and indoor theaters. The Bills and Bagby families joined forces in 1980, forming B&B Theatres. As of the 2020s, B&B Theatres operates 564 screens across 57 locations in 16 states, including Florida, and features amenities such as bowling lanes, arcade games, and distinct restaurant brands. Amelia Island 7 serves the Fernandina Beach community as a local B&B Theatres location, offering first-run films and entertainment options consistent with the chain's mission to create magical entertainment experiences.
