Alzheimer Forschung Initiative

The Alzheimer Forschung Initiative e.V. (AFI) is a non-profit voluntary association that has independently funded dementia research for over 30 years, with the goal of better understanding, effectively treating and one day curing Alzheimer's and other dementias. It also informs and supports people with dementia, relatives and interested parties in everyday life. Since 1995 it has pursued independent research funding so that Alzheimer's becomes curable, and it supports those affected and interested parties with comprehensive information about the disease. The association's and its foundation's stated purpose is to promote Alzheimer's research and education about the disease. The Stiftung Alzheimer Initiative gemeinnützige GmbH, founded in 2009, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alzheimer Forschung Initiative.

The Stiftung Alzheimer Initiative gemeinnützige GmbH was founded in 2009 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alzheimer Forschung Initiative; donations to the foundation flow directly into the association's research projects and educational work, and the foundation also offers long-term funding options such as endowments, donor funds and trust foundations.
