Overview

Alpine Quantum Technologies GmbH (AQT) is an Austrian quantum computing company based in Innsbruck. It was founded in February 2018 by Prof. Rainer Blatt and others. AQT realises the first general-purpose quantum computer and offers fully functional trapped-ion quantum computers, quantum hardware instruments, and cloud access. Its quantum computers are engineered to fit within 19-inch rack cabinets, operate at room temperature, and consume less than 2 kW of power.

History

Alpine Quantum Technologies GmbH was founded in February 2018 by Prof. Rainer Blatt and others. The founders of AQT have been the first persons to realise a controlled-NOT gate operation – the building block of general-purpose quantum computers. Since then, ion-trap quantum computers have been at the forefront of quantum technology development: from atomic clocks to quantum simulators, to universal quantum computers. AQT realises the first general-purpose quantum computer and already enables its customers to either install quantum computers on-site or access them conveniently via cloud solution.

Products and positioning

The world's leading 19-inch rack-mounted quantum computer; European quantum computing made superior and more readily available to international customers.

  • MARMOT

The first commercial 19-inch rack-mounted quantum computer with 20 fully connected qubits, 128 = 2^7 quantum volume on a 7-qubit register, (99.96 +/- 0.01)% single-qubit gate fidelity on an 11-qubit register, and (98.47 +/- 0.3)% two-qubit gate fidelity over all pairs on an 11-qubit register.

  • IBEX Q1

Quantum computer system that executes quantum circuits via cloud access, with 12 fully connected qubits, 128 = 2^7 quantum volume, (99.97 +/- 0.01)% single-qubit gate fidelity over entire qubit-register, and (98.7 +/- 0.3)% two-qubit gate fidelity over all pairs of the register.

  • PINE TRAP

    High-performance ion trap for quantum applications with < 1 phonons/sec @ 500 kHz, < 0.05 residual axial micromotion, < 5 K/W RF induced trap heating, and < 0.6 numerical aperture.

  • PINE SET-UP

Modular trapped ion architecture for quantum applications with < 0.02 1/s background-gas collision rate, 0.6 NA of objective for addressing and readout, 4 optical fiber ports, and 2 different species possible.

  • ROWAN

Compact and rack-integrable module for generating and controlling laser light pulses, with 3 HU, 6 in a row compactness, 400 nm – 900 nm spectral range, 45% – 75% efficiency, and acousto-optic modulator (AOM) in double-pass configuration.
