Overview
Alma TV is an Italian television network owned by GMH S.p.A., part of the Gruppo Sciscione. It was launched on 1 May 2020, replacing the channels Alice and Marcopolo and consolidating their content into a single network. The name "Alma" is an acronym derived from the initials of Alice and Marcopolo. The channel primarily broadcasts programming dedicated to travel and cooking, reflecting the themes of its predecessor channels. It is available on digital terrestrial television and streams on its official website. Since its launch, Alma TV has undergone several technical changes, including transitions between standard and high definition, and the addition of secondary channels Alma TV Travel and Alma TV Food on Samsung TV Plus. The channel is part of the Gruppo Sciscione's media portfolio, which also includes other local television stations in the Lazio region.
History
Alma TV was launched on 1 May 2020, replacing the channels Alice and Marcopolo and also taking over from Canale 65, a television channel of the Gruppo Sciscione (Gold TV) that had been broadcasting the programming of the two channels in alternation since 6 April. The name "Alma" is an acronym of Alice and Marcopolo. The channel numbering and bandwidth continued to be provided by the Lazio-based group. From the end of 2020, when the publisher Alma Media was admitted to a preventive concordat, the Alma TV channel was managed, at least partially, by Gruppo Sciscione; consequently, some programs from the publisher's local Lazio stations began airing on the channel. On 7 July 2020, it switched to high definition, then returned to standard definition on 18 July 2021, and again to HD on 20 August 2022. From 14 July 2021, secondary channels Alma TV Travel and Alma TV Food (respectively Marcopolo and Alice) became visible on Samsung Smart TVs via Samsung TV Plus at LCNs 4261 and 4354. On DTT and streaming on the official website, only Alma TV remained visible. On 1 February 2023, the channel adopted a new logo and graphics. On 31 July 2025, the channel changed mux from Cairo Due to Persidera 1 and a copy was added on channel 565.
