Allegro Retail

Allegro Retail a.s. is a Czech e-commerce company that until 1 October 2024 traded as Mall Group a.s. It operates a portfolio of online shops selling products ranging from electronics to groceries, and it also runs the One by Allegro parcel delivery network (One Courier, One Box, One Point). The group was assembled in July 2016 out of the Mall shopping-gallery business and specialised e-shops from the Rockaway group, with backing from Daniel Křetínský, Patrik Tkáč and the PPF group. Its best-known consumer brands have included Mall.cz, CZC.cz, Bigbrands.cz, Bux.cz and Rozbaleno.cz, and at its peak the group also spanned Mall.sk, Mall.pl, Mall.hu, Mall.hr and Mimovrste.com. In the financial year ending 31 March 2022 Mall Group reported a loss of CZK 682 million and consolidated revenues fell to CZK 17,854 million. In 2021 the sale of the company to Poland's Allegro was announced, and in 2022 Allegro completed the acquisition of MALL Group and WE|DO. The Czech entity was renamed Allegro Retail in 2024, aligning it with its Polish parent and with the One by Allegro delivery brand.

Allegro Retail a.s. traces its origins to the E-commerce Holding built from 2014 by Jakub Havrlant with the support of Daniel Křetínský and Patrik Tkáč. Through acquisitions and new ventures the holding accumulated e-shops such as Vivantis, CZC, Koloniál, Sporty and Proděti. Its final major acquisition, already involving the PPF group, was Netretail Holding, which owned Mall.cz and Heureka; it was bought from the South African conglomerate Naspers. In the summer of 2016 these acquisitions — with the exception of Heureka — were brought together under Mall Group, where Havrlant held managerial control. The grouping was formally created in July 2016, combining the Mall shopping galleries, whose transactions were carried out with the financial support of Daniel Křetínský, Patrik Tkáč and the PPF group, with specialised e-shops from the Rockaway group. The group included Mall.cz, CZC.cz, Bigbrands.cz, Bux.cz and Rozbaleno.cz. In August 2017 Mall Group bought the online grocery store Košík.cz from Josef Koler and merged it with its own Kolonial.cz, again with the financial backing of PPF, Křetínský and Tkáč. In October 2017 Petr Kellner's PPF group acquired a 40% stake in Mall Group, with Daniel Křetínský and Patrik Tkáč controlling another 40% and the remaining 20% held by Jakub Havrlant's investment group Rockaway Capital. The e-shops Prodeti.cz and Bambino.sk were discontinued, with Prodeti.cz's assortment moved into Mall.cz and Bambino.sk into Mall.sk. In 2021 the intention to sell the company to Poland's Allegro was announced, and in 2022 Allegro completed the acquisition of MALL Group and WE|DO. In the financial year ending 31 March 2022 Mall Group reported a loss of CZK 682 million and consolidated revenues fell to CZK 17,854 million. On 1 October 2024 the company was renamed from Mall Group a.s. to Allegro Retail a.s., aligning the Czech business with its Polish parent and with the One by Allegro delivery brand, which offers One Courier, One Box and One Point delivery methods and promises next-day delivery with a 50% shipping refund if it fails.
