Alfred Landecker Foundation

The Alfred Landecker Foundation was founded in 2019 by the Reimann family. It states that it is convinced all people have the right to live without fear, without persecution and without suffering. Its stated themes are remembering the Holocaust, fighting antisemitism, and strengthening democracy, which it pursues together with its funding projects. The foundation is named after Holocaust victim Alfred Landecker, whose life is documented in a biography by author Annette Prosinger. The foundation's origins are tied to the family's earlier commissioning of economic historian Professor Paul Erker in 2016 to research the history of the family company Joh. A. Benckiser GmbH, predecessor of today's JAB Holding Company, during the Nazi era; Erker's research was published as a book in July 2023.

The founders had already commissioned economic historian Professor Paul Erker (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) in 2016 to research the history of the family company Joh. A. Benckiser GmbH, the predecessor company of today's JAB Holding Company, during the Nazi era. In July 2023 his research was published as a book, in which he addresses the political entanglements of Benckiser's management during the Nazi era as well as the use of forced laborers in the company's plants. The foundation is named after Holocaust victim Alfred Landecker; author Annette Prosinger portrays the most important stations of his life in a biography. The foundation states that it is convinced all people have the right to live without fear, without persecution and without suffering, and that its themes are remembering the Holocaust, fighting antisemitism, and strengthening democracy.
