Alexander Arms

Alexander Arms is an American weaponsmaker. According to its company history, Bill Alexander — described as the top armourer for the UK — came to the US in January 2001 and, after years of design, testing and development, combined his .50 caliber Beowulf® cartridge with a variation of the AR-15 rifle, and later developed the 6.5 Grendel cartridge along with an AR-15 variation to fire it. The company states that it was built upon these two cartridges and that its manufacturing facilities are located on the Radford Arsenal in the Southwest of Virginia. Its product line includes rifles and pistols, ammunition, magazines, muzzle brakes, bolt assemblies and cleaning kits.

According to the company's history page, in January 2001 Bill Alexander had a vision. Described as the top armourer for the UK, he had designed dozens of new weapons, small arms cartridges, and vehicle armor that had been battle-proven the world over. He came to the US with a blank piece of paper and an imagination in overdrive. After years of design, testing and development, he combined the firepower of his .50 caliber Beowulf® cartridge with a variation of the AR-15 light assault rifle. He then saw a need for a flat shooting, hard-hitting long-range cartridge with accuracy far surpassing the current state of the art, and his efforts led to the development of the 6.5 Grendel; he again designed a variation of the AR-15 to function with his new cartridge. The company states that Alexander Arms® was built upon these two cartridges, and that its manufacturing facilities are located on the Radford Arsenal in the Southwest of Virginia.
