In 1981 the second coil-to-coil anodizing line with a width of 1,000 mm was put into operation. In 1985 construction began on a 220 m long coil-to-coil production line that could anodize large coils up to a width of 1250 mm until 1986. Alanod grew successfully and became the leading European manufacturer of anodized aluminium. Between 1994 and 1999 the two coil-to-coil PVD coating systems ALBA I and II were commissioned. In 1998 Alanod expanded its activities in the UK through the acquisition of METALOXYD, renamed Alanod Ltd. In 2002 a new 3000 m² production hall was built and the administration building was extended by 700 m².
