AirNow Air Conditioning

AirNow Air Conditioning is a residential heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) contractor based in Sarasota, Florida, in the United States. The company describes itself as a well-established and trusted HVAC provider for Bradenton, Sarasota and nearby communities, and states that it has been in business since 1946. Its service area centers on Sarasota and its surrounding areas, and it markets itself on long local experience, same-day service and a "Service Today or It's Free!" promise, alongside 24/7 emergency service. The company's core offering is residential HVAC work: installation, repair, maintenance and replacement of heating and cooling systems. Its website lists cooling services, ductless services, air quality services and heating services, and says its technicians work on heat pumps, zoning systems and traditional central air conditioning. It also offers maintenance plans and financing options with approved credit, positioning itself as a balance between comfort and affordability for homeowners facing Florida's hot summers and cool winters. AirNow emphasizes the training and certification of its technicians, stating that they are fully trained, NATE-certified and York Certified as York Comfort Experts, and that they undergo regular training to stay current with HVAC technology. The company presents itself as customer-centric, with a stated priority on comfort and satisfaction and a promise to fix problems quickly and without shortcuts. Ownership of AirNow Air Conditioning is tied to Don Lester, described on the company's About Us page as a seasoned HVAC professional who began his career in the industry in 1995. He joined AirNow in 1998, later founded his own company, Don Lester Air Conditioning, and returned to AirNow in 2018. In 2022 he acquired AirNow, becoming its owner. The company is privately held and operates as a local, independent contractor rather than a national chain or franchise. As a regional service business, AirNow Air Conditioning competes in the Sarasota–Bradenton HVAC market on reputation, responsiveness and technical certification rather than on manufacturing its own equipment. Its public identity rests on decades of continuous local operation, a family-style service ethos and modern tools and technology.

AirNow Air Conditioning traces its origins to 1946, when it began operating as an HVAC contractor in the Sarasota, Florida area. The company states that it has been in business since 1946 and that it has served Bradenton, Sarasota and nearby communities for more than three-quarters of a century. Over that period it built a local reputation for residential heating and cooling installation, repair, maintenance and replacement work. The modern chapter of the company's history is closely tied to Don Lester. According to the company's About Us page, Lester began his career in the HVAC industry in 1995. In 1998 he joined the team at AirNow Air Conditioning, which the company describes as the beginning of a significant chapter in his career. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, he later left to establish his own company, Don Lester Air Conditioning, where he expanded his expertise and honed his skills. In 2018, Lester returned to AirNow Air Conditioning, bringing with him years of experience and a customer-centric approach. In 2022 he reached what the company calls a notable milestone by acquiring AirNow, becoming its owner. Under his ownership, the company has continued to emphasize customer service and the integration of cutting-edge technologies in the HVAC industry, with Lester often personally visiting customer sites to ensure quality. By the 2020s, AirNow Air Conditioning presented itself as a well-established and trusted HVAC company serving Bradenton, Sarasota and the nearby communities. Its website highlights more than 76 years of experience in the HVAC industry, a team of fully trained, NATE-certified and York Certified technicians, and a range of services covering cooling, heating, ductless systems and air quality. The company also promotes same-day service, 24/7 emergency availability, maintenance plans and financing options, positioning itself as a responsive and affordable local provider for Florida homeowners.
