Air Chathams

Air Chathams is a New Zealand airline based in the Chatham Islands, east of mainland New Zealand. Founded in 1984, it primarily provides air links between the Chatham Islands and mainland New Zealand, while also operating selected domestic routes. Its activities include scheduled passenger services, freight transport, charter flights and other tailored aviation services. Unlike large trunk carriers, the brand is positioned around serving remote islands, regional communities and smaller airports. Publicly verifiable information about its financial performance, management and detailed product portfolio is limited.

Air Chathams was established in 1984, with its core business focused on providing air links between the Chatham Islands and mainland New Zealand. Because the Chatham Islands have a small population and limited aviation demand, local air services need to combine passenger transport, freight and charter operations. Over time, Air Chathams developed a regional and remote-community aviation model and expanded into selected domestic destinations and tailored flight services in New Zealand. The company is not primarily built around a large international network; instead, it serves regional connectivity and community air transport needs. Public information on its fleet changes, route expansion and management history is limited, so further details are omitted.
