Air Charter Service was founded in 1990 by Chris Leach, who started the business from the basement of his home in Kingston Upon Thames. Chris Leach, the son of a pilot, had experience in the aviation industry starting with Saturn Airways in the 1970s. He believed there was space for an aircraft charter company focused on exceptional service and building long-lasting customer relationships. The company later moved to a small office above a shop in Kingston Upon Thames, and after three further office moves, it now has over 500 staff worldwide. Justin Bowman, who first worked with Chris Leach during a placement year, is now the CEO of ACS.
