Agere Systems

Agere Systems was an American semiconductor company established in 2000 through a spin-off from Lucent Technologies and headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It developed integrated circuits for communications and storage applications, with its products used in areas such as mobile phones, networking equipment, and hard-disk drives. Agere operated as an independent semiconductor company before being acquired by LSI Corporation. LSI completed the acquisition in 2007, after which Agere ceased to operate as an independent brand.
