Overview

Aero4M is a Slovenian airline that was founded in 2008 and initially provided base and line maintenance for helicopters. In June 2012, it was acquired by the French aviation group Regourd Aviation, which transformed it into an airline holding a Slovenian air operator's certificate. Under Regourd Aviation, Aero4M operated a fleet primarily composed of 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145 twinjets, providing ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance) services to third-party airlines and regular passenger transport in France and abroad. In July 2019, Regourd Aviation rebranded itself as Amelia, and Aero4M progressively became Amelia International. The airline is headquartered in Slovenia but maintains operational bases in France, notably at Saint-Brieuc Armor Airport where its maintenance subsidiary Amelia Tech (formerly AirMain) is located. Amelia International operates scheduled flights, charter services, and medical evacuations (MEDEVAC) across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. It has operated public service obligation (OSP) routes in France, such as Rodez–Paris Orly and Clermont-Ferrand–Paris Orly, and has code-share agreements with Air France. As of 2025, its sole scheduled route is Pau–Paris Orly, operated in partnership with Air France. The fleet includes Learjet 45, Embraer ERJ135/ERJ145, Embraer E90, Airbus A319, and A320 aircraft, with a total of 18 aircraft ranging from 8 to 180 seats.

History

Aero4M was established in 2008 in Slovenia, initially focusing on base and line maintenance for helicopters. In June 2012, the company was acquired by the French aviation group Regourd Aviation, which transformed it into an airline operating under a Slovenian air operator's certificate. The airline's fleet was primarily composed of 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145 twinjets, used for ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance) services for third-party airlines and for regular passenger transport in France and abroad. In July 2019, Regourd Aviation announced a rebranding to Amelia, in homage to American aviator Amelia Earhart. Consequently, Aero4M progressively changed its name to Amelia International. On 21 January 2020, Amelia International began operating its first scheduled commercial route under its own name, Rodez–Paris Orly, after winning a public service obligation (OSP) tender previously held by Eastern Airways. Following Air France's abrupt withdrawal from the Paris–Clermont-Ferrand route, Amelia International launched its second own-operated route in September 2020. In November 2020, Amelia International signed a code-share agreement with Air France for the Paris Orly–Rodez and Paris Orly–Clermont-Ferrand routes, later extended to all routes operated by Amelia International. The airline also provided ACMI services to third-party airlines, including Air France on routes from Lorient to Roissy-CDG and Lyon (October 2018 to March 2020), from Aurillac to Paris Orly (from March 2019), and from Castres to Paris Orly (from June 2019), as well as on-demand transport for professional football and rugby teams such as FC Lorient, Olympique de Marseille, Stade Rennais, Olympique Lyonnais, LOSC Lille, PSG, FC Nantes, Racing 92, and Rugby Club Toulonnais. In February 2020, Amelia International operated regular routes including Lorient–Paris CDG, Lorient–Lyon, Aurillac–Paris Orly, Castres–Paris Orly, Rodez–Paris Orly, and Brive–Paris Orly. During the COVID-19 crisis, the airline suspended commercial flights and repatriated its aircraft to Saint-Brieuc Airport. The pandemic abruptly ended its ACMI contract with Air France on the Lorient routes on 22 March 2020, with the last flight CDG–LRT using an ERJ 145 registered S5-ACJ. After the gradual resumption of domestic flights post-COVID and Air France's abandonment of certain domestic routes, Amelia International resumed the Clermont-Ferrand–Paris Orly route in September 2020. By October 2020, it operated regular routes for its own account or for Air France: Aurillac–Paris Orly, Castres–Paris Orly, Rodez–Paris Orly, Brive–Paris Orly, Clermont-Ferrand–Paris Orly, and Tarbes–Paris Orly. In August 2022, it operated for Air France: Aurillac–Paris Orly and Castres–Paris Orly; for its own account: Rodez–Paris Orly, Brive–Paris Orly (with two seasonal routes from Brive to Ajaccio and Nice), Strasbourg–Munich, and Strasbourg–Amsterdam. In July 2024, it operated Rodez–Paris Orly, Brive–Paris Orly, Strasbourg–Amsterdam, and seasonal routes Brive–Ajaccio, Brive–Brussels, and Brive–Nice. In August 2024, Amelia International decided to discontinue the Brive–Orly route from 2 September due to rising costs, particularly kerosene. Since 17 February 2025, Amelia International has operated the new Pau–Paris Orly link in partnership with Air France. As of July 2025, this is the only scheduled route in Amelia International's catalogue. The 2026 fleet consists of 18 aircraft ranging from 8 to 180 seats: Learjet 45, ERJ135 (F-GRGP, F-HLIP, F-HMOV), ERJ145 (F-HRAM, F-HRAV, F-HRGD, F-HESR, S5-ACJ, SE-DZA, F-HYOG, F-HOXY), E90, A319 (F-HDSJ), and A320. In the past, it also operated ATR42 and ATR72 aircraft. These aircraft are maintained in the workshops of its maintenance subsidiary Amelia Tech (formerly AirMain), based at Saint-Brieuc Armor Airport.
