History

Advancecon Holdings Berhad was founded by Datuk Phum Ang Kia and began as a specialist earthworks contractor. Over more than 30 years, it has grown into one of Malaysia's established names in civil engineering and infrastructure works. The Group built its reputation on large-scale earthworks, civil engineering and infrastructure delivery, undertaking projects across townships, highways, industrial developments and public infrastructure. As it expanded, Advancecon obtained ISO certification, CIDB G7 accreditation and SPKK registration for Building and Civil Engineering categories, enabling it to undertake government and private-sector projects of unlimited value. These credentials are supported by decades of practical site experience across bulk earthworks, road and pavement works, bridges, drainage, sewerage systems, piling, rock blasting, soil investigation and water-retaining structures. The Group later listed on Bursa Malaysia, which it says has helped it strengthen its market presence through new project wins, strategic expansion and improved governance. While earthworks and infrastructure remain its core strengths, Advancecon has progressively expanded into complementary business segments including quarry operations, construction materials, renewable energy and property development. This evolution reflects its ambition to build a broader platform across Malaysia's construction, infrastructure and development landscape. In renewable energy, Advancecon launched commercial operations of a large-scale solar photovoltaic facility in Selangor, marking an important step in its journey toward greener growth. It continues to explore opportunities in solar, hydropower and other green technologies. In 2026, the Group reported a 34.5% rise in profit attributable to owners for the first half of FY2026, with an order book of RM939 million. It also secured several new contracts, including a RM121.7 million contract for data centre-enabling infrastructure, a RM47.6 million contract from Johor Corp, and signed an MOU with Teras Impiana to strengthen future-ready industrial and mission-critical infrastructure capabilities. In March 2026, it welcomed Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, Datuk Loo Took Gee and Wee Chuen Lii to its board.
