Overview

ADSTEC Corporation (株式会社エーディーエステック) is a Japanese technology trading and engineering company headquartered in Funabashi, Chiba. Founded in April 2002 as Advan Science Technology (アドサイエンス・テクノロジー) by Tsutomu Kojima, the company has grown into a specialist supplier of industrial imaging hardware, machine-vision software and biotechnology instruments. Its business is built on two pillars: the import and domestic sale of image-related equipment and software, and the development, manufacture and sale of gene- and cell-related instruments. On the imaging side, ADSTEC distributes line-scan and area-scan cameras, frame grabbers, image-processing libraries, infrared thermography and thermal cameras, temperature-monitoring and intrusion-detection systems, and deep-learning image-analysis software. It is a long-standing Japanese channel partner for Teledyne DALSA and also handles products from Teledyne e2v, Teledyne FLIR, Teledyne Adimec, Pleora, Schneider and other manufacturers. Its proprietary AI software, NAIT, is marketed for industrial visual inspection and is used in DX education. The company also operates a test room where customers can evaluate Teledyne DALSA cameras and imaging demonstrations. On the bio side, ADSTEC develops and manufactures chromosome-analysis pre-treatment systems and cell-processing pre-treatment equipment, and sells chromatography products including HPLC systems from Concise Separations. It holds ISO 13485 certification for medical-device quality management. The company is part of a small group that includes ADS Biotec Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska, ADS Biotec Limited in Glasgow, Scotland, and Fuyo Denshi (芙蓉電子) in Japan. ADSTEC serves advanced inspection fields such as semiconductor manufacturing, food safety, power generation, airport security and waste-treatment fire-risk monitoring. It exhibits at trade shows including SEMICON, BATTERY JAPAN, SEECAT and manufacturing DX expos. The company remains privately held, with capital of 33 million yen, and is led by representative director Yuki Kojima.

History

ADSTEC Corporation was established on April 1, 2002, as Advan Science Technology (アドサイエンス・テクノロジー) with capital of 20 million yen, founded by Tsutomu Kojima. From the outset the company pursued two business lines: the import and domestic sale of image-related equipment and software, and the development and manufacture of gene-related instruments. In February 2004 the company received the Venture Award at the 9th Chiba Genki-jirushi Grand Prize, organized by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun and co-sponsored by Chiba Kogyo Bank, recognizing its early promise as a regional venture. Over the following years ADSTEC built a portfolio of industrial imaging products, becoming a Japanese channel partner for Teledyne DALSA line-scan and area-scan cameras, frame grabbers and image-processing libraries. It expanded its offering to include infrared thermography and thermal cameras, temperature-monitoring and intrusion-detection systems, and deep-learning image-analysis software. The company developed its own AI software, NAIT, for industrial visual inspection, designed to allow application-based deep learning without advanced skills. It also opened a test room where customers can bring samples and evaluate Teledyne DALSA cameras, including on-site imaging demonstrations. On the biotechnology side, ADSTEC developed and manufactured chromosome-analysis pre-treatment systems and cell-processing pre-treatment equipment, and began selling chromatography products including HPLC systems from Concise Separations. The company obtained ISO 13485 certification for medical-device quality management. It also formed or acquired group companies: ADS Biotec Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, and ADS Biotec Limited in Glasgow, UK, which provide bio-related products and solutions, and Fuyo Denshi (芙蓉電子), which designs, develops and manufactures electronic, control and applied equipment. By the 2020s ADSTEC was exhibiting at major trade shows such as SEMICON, BATTERY JAPAN, SEECAT and manufacturing DX expos, and serving applications in semiconductor inspection, food safety, thermal power plant fire-warning systems, airport baggage conveyor safety and waste-treatment facility fire-risk monitoring. The company continued to add new products, including the Marveloc-Lab basis-weight measurement system and the Teledyne FLIR X6981-HS high-speed thermal camera, and began handling Teledyne Adimec cameras for advanced inspection. As of the mid-2020s ADSTEC remains a privately held company headquartered in Funabashi, Chiba, with capital of 33 million yen, a second building nearby, an Osaka sales office, and representative director Yuki Kojima.
