Active Rainbow

Active Rainbow is an educational platform and community that celebrates personal growth and inclusivity. Founded in 2014 as a self-organized initiative, it began with its first international project in the Netherlands. The platform is active in youth work and learning programs, operating at local, national, European, and international levels through cooperation with various organizations, collectives, and informal groups. Since March 2020, it has had its first registered branch as an organization in Latvia. Its mission is to strengthen the implementation of Human Rights and improve the quality of LGBT+ spectrum education by offering learning opportunities for people to grow and thrive. The motto is 'Learning made simple, yet significant.' Active Rainbow contributes to inclusive education for LGBTQIA+ youth and sustains a network of organizations and individuals aiming to strengthen capacities and foster cooperation and cross-cultural exchange. Its objectives include supporting young people in their learning and development, offering safe and inclusive educational environments, promoting youth work and training of youth workers, increasing the visibility of non-formal learning as activism, and fostering volunteerism. The platform has delivered numerous projects and engaged many participants, as highlighted on its website. It is recognized as a Latvian NGO.
