The 693d Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group is a United States Air Force intelligence unit located at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Its mission is to lead theater Air Force ISR operations through effective planning, collection, analysis, and dissemination, enabling theater and national warfighters to secure global vigilance, reach, and power. The group traces its lineage to the 693rd Electronic Security Wing, established on 21 June 1988 and activated on 7 July 1988 at RAF Chicksands in the United Kingdom. It was inactivated on 1 October 1991, then redesignated the 693 Intelligence Wing and activated the same day, before being inactivated again on 1 October 1993. On 21 June 2007 it was redesignated the 693 Intelligence Group and activated on 12 July 2007. It was redesignated the 693 Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group on 1 January 2009. The group is assigned to the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, having previously been assigned to the 70th Intelligence Wing from 12 July 2007 and to the 480th Intelligence Wing from 23 July 2008. Its component units have included the 24th Intelligence Squadron, the 402nd Intelligence Squadron, the 450th Intelligence Squadron, the 485th Intelligence Squadron, and the 693rd Intelligence Support Squadron. The group's stations have included RAF Chicksands, United Kingdom; Kelly Air Force Base, Texas; and Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where it has been stationed since 12 July 2007.

During this period it was stationed at Kelly Air Force Base, Texas. It was inactivated on 1 October 1993. On 21 June 2007 it was redesignated the 693 Intelligence Group and activated on 12 July 2007, assigned to the 70th Intelligence Wing. On 23 July 2008 it was assigned to the 480th Intelligence Wing (later the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing). It was redesignated the 693 Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group on 1 January 2009. Since 12 July 2007 it has been stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Its component units have included the 6950th Electronic Security Group (later 450th Intelligence Squadron), the 6960th Electronic Security Group, the 24th Intelligence Squadron, the 402nd Intelligence Squadron, the 450th Intelligence Squadron, the 485th Intelligence Squadron, the 600th Electronic Security Squadron, the 693rd Intelligence Support Squadron, the 6906th Electronic Security Squadron, the 6933rd Electronic Security Squadron, the 6947th Electronic Security Squadron, the 6948th Electronic Security Squadron, the 6949th Electronic Security Squadron, the 6951st Electronic Security Squadron, the 6952nd Electronic Security Squadron, the Electronic Security Squadron, Provisional, 6975th, and the 6993rd Electronic Security Squadron.
