Overview

Ping An Asset Management Co., Ltd. (平安资管) is the asset-management subsidiary of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, one of China's largest financial conglomerates. It operates as an institutional money manager, investing insurance premiums and third-party mandates across fixed income, equities, money markets, alternative and overseas strategies. Its client base spans Ping An's own insurance entities as well as external institutional investors such as banks, insurers and corporate pension funds. The firm sits within Ping An Group's asset-management segment alongside other licensed platforms, and its role is to convert the group's large, long-duration insurance liabilities into diversified portfolios while building a third-party asset-management business. It is a licensed institutional investor in China's interbank and exchange markets and participates in major domestic infrastructure and bond programmes. As a subsidiary brand, Ping An Asset Management is not separately listed; its financial results are consolidated into Ping An Group, which is listed in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The brand is positioned around large-scale, liability-driven institutional investing and Ping An's broader integrated-financial-services ecosystem. Note: the supplied evidence does not describe this entity directly and concerns unrelated listed companies and market data; the dossier therefore relies on well-established public facts about the Ping An group and should be treated as a baseline entry.

History

Ping An Asset Management was established in 2005 as the dedicated asset-management platform of Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, which had grown from a single Shenzhen property-and-casualty insurer founded in 1988 into a diversified financial group spanning insurance, banking, trust, securities and technology. Creating a separate asset manager allowed the group to centralise the investment of insurance premiums and to build professional capabilities in fixed income, equity and alternative investing. Over the following decade the firm expanded from managing group insurance assets into third-party institutional mandates, and it became one of China's larger institutional investors by assets under management. It operates within the regulatory framework of China's insurance and asset-management regulators and invests through the interbank bond market, exchange markets and approved overseas channels. Ping An Group's 2018 reorganisation sharpened its segment reporting into insurance, banking, asset management and technology, with the asset-management segment encompassing the group's various investment platforms. Ping An Asset Management remains a core licensed entity in that segment, alongside trust and other investment businesses. The brand's history is therefore closely tied to the growth of Chinese institutional investing and to Ping An's strategy of integrated financial services; it is not separately listed and does not publish standalone share-price information.
