Şiiri Özlüyorum

Şiiri Özlüyorum is a Turkish poetry magazine founded in 2003 and published bimonthly in Avanos, Nevşehir. It is edited by the teacher Fuat Çiftçi, who single-handedly manages its editorial and publication affairs. The magazine began publication in August 2003 and has continued without interruption, making it the first poetry magazine of Nevşehir province. It publishes Turkish poems as well as translations of foreign-language poetry into Turkish and English translations of Turkish poems. Beyond poetry, it includes articles, essays, criticism, interviews, diaries, letters, short stories, book reviews, obituaries, papers, news, and writing on cinema and theatre. The magazine has developed its own roster of poets and writers, including Mustafa Durak, Celal Soycan, Koray Feyiz, Murat Dalgın, Fuat Çiftçi, Hüseyin Peker, and Hüseyin Çiftçi. It prepares themed dossiers under headings such as "Poetry and Eroticism," "The Pornography of the Image," and "Poetry Annuals." To emphasize its policy of publishing good poetry, the phrase "Şiir Gözü" (The Eye of Poetry) appears just below the magazine's name. The magazine also has a book series under the same name (Şiiri Özlüyorum Kitaplığı); in 2011, celebrating its 10th anniversary, it published a book titled "Kırıklar Atlası."
