Austrian Travel Bureau

The VERKEHRSBUERO is described on its official website as Austria's leading tourism group, with the operating group divisions VERKEHRSBUERO TRAVEL and VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY, plus a HOLDING area serving as an internal partner for management and services. Its corporate headquarters in Vienna is called "Home of Travel". The group traces its history back to 1917 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2017. It employs over 2,000 people and operates brands including Ruefa, Eurotours, Intertravel, DDSG Blue Danube, Austria Trend hotels, and Palais Events.

According to the official history page, the VERKEHRSBUERO has been sending Austria on travels since 1917, and in 2017 it celebrated its 100th anniversary with a time journey using its vintage bus. Even after more than 100 years, it describes itself as Austria's largest and most diverse tourism group. In its early years after founding, its task was to promote travel with the state railways; in 1922, together with the postal administration, it expanded the bus network; and in 1923 the central building on Vienna's Friedrichstraße was completed.
