ÖRK-Suchdienst

The ÖRK-Suchdienst (Suchdienst und Familienzusammenführung) is the tracing service of the Austrian Red Cross (Österreichisches Rotes Kreuz). It supports people who have been separated from their families by armed conflicts, wars, disasters, flight, displacement or migration. The service searches for relatives, reconnects them and reunites families, and it also supports the clarification of fates from the Second World War and subsequent conflicts. Its online offerings include Trace the Face, an online photo gallery of people searching for relatives lost on migration routes to Europe, and the online search at www.familylinks.icrc.org for persons in current crisis areas. The FamilienTreffen project accompanies reunited families through volunteer, professionally trained and supervised IntegrationBuddies.
