ÖHMI Aktiengesellschaft (ÖHMI AG) is a German testing, inspection and certification (TIC) company headquartered in Magdeburg. It traces its origins to 1950, when it was founded as the "Zentrallabor der Öl- und Margarineindustrie" (Central Laboratory of the Oil and Margarine Industry) in Magdeburg. Over the following decades it built up capacities for the development and realisation of new products and technologies for the oils and fats industry, and from the 1990s it progressively diversified into analytics, research, engineering, consulting and the certification of management systems. Today ÖHMI describes itself as offering a unique spectrum of testing and service services in the fields of laboratory analytics, quality assurance and process management, auditing and certification of management systems, and real-estate services — all around quality, safety, health and environmental protection. The company states that it helps solve health and sustainability questions by reliably testing, certifying and assuring products, processes and innovations, and positions itself as a partner to its customers. Its service portfolio includes laboratory and laboratory analytics, quality assurance and process management, auditing and certification of management systems, research and engineering of plant-oil technology, and building and real-estate services. Its industry focus spans the food industry, food retail, agriculture, the real-estate and housing industries, healthcare, the energy industry, the circular economy, the construction industry, industry generally, and municipalities and public institutions. ÖHMI was converted into "ÖHMI Aktiengesellschaft" in 1999, with the operational business areas spun out. In 2022 it founded and took a stake in CERTANIA Holding GmbH, building a private corporate group in the TESTING, INSPECTION, CERTIFICATION (TIC) sector. Management has been led by Dr. Carsten Transfeld since 2013, following Dr. Peter Transfeld, who took over management in 1990. In 2025 the company received the Silver City Plaque of the state capital Magdeburg on its 75th corporate anniversary.

From 1965 to 1990 the organisation progressively built up capacities for the development and realisation of new products and technologies for the oils and fats industry. In 1990, Dr. Peter Transfeld took over management. Between 1990 and 1992 the organisation was converted into the Treuhand enterprise "ÖHMI Forschung und Ingenieurtechnik GmbH" and privatised through a management buy-out. From 1993 to 1998 it developed and established new business fields, including analytics, research, engineering, consulting and the certification of management systems. In 1999 the company was converted into "ÖHMI Aktiengesellschaft" and its operational business areas were spun out: laboratory analytics and consulting for food and environmental analytics, research, engineering of plant-oil technology, certification and auditing of management systems, and real-estate service. In the same year ÖHMI received the "Oskar für den Mittelstand" award. In 2013, Dr. Carsten Transfeld took over management. In 2015 ÖHMI received the honorary ambassador title of the state capital Magdeburg. In 2022 the company founded and took a stake in CERTANIA Holding GmbH, building a private corporate group in the TESTING, INSPECTION, CERTIFICATION (TIC) sector. In 2025, on its 75th corporate anniversary, ÖHMI was awarded the Silver City Plaque of the state capital Magdeburg.
