    Added to the US Commerce Department Entity List

    The US Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security added Zhipu AI and about 10 affiliated entities to the export-control Entity List, saying its AI R&D supports China’s military modernization; Zhipu became the first Chinese large-model company added to the list. Zhipu responded that the decision lacks factual basis, that the company controls full-chain large-model core technologies, and that it will not have a material impact on its business. Its access to US chips and technology is restricted.
