Stainless-steel price-fixing investigation and fines
The German Federal Cartel Office fined several stainless-steel producers, including Zapp Group, in a proceeding involving coordination of scrap and alloy surcharge calculations and the exchange of prices for some engineering-steel products. The alleged conduct extended from 2004 until searches in November 2015. The companies acknowledged the allegations. The combined fines across the affected companies totaled approximately €205 million.
