1944
Forced labor at the Frotex factory subcamp
In September 1944, the factory was used as an Auschwitz subcamp. Approximately 400 women, most of them Jewish women from Hungary, were imprisoned and forced to work on spinning machines under SS administration. The subcamp was closed in January 1945, followed by a forced evacuation toward Gross-Rosen and Bergen-Belsen.
