Cerro Maravilla incident
Two pro-independence activists went to the Cerro Maravilla transmitter site intending to damage the station's tower. Police intercepted them and they were later killed while in police custody. The incident became one of Puerto Rico's most controversial political and law-enforcement episodes, although the station itself was the location of the confrontation rather than the alleged perpetrator.
